I feel as though we’ve accomplished a lot these last few days even though it doesn’t sound like much. Feeling pressure from the neighbors, Mike pulled out the little electric lawn mower that Pamela left for us. Robert, our neighbor, came over with his big gas mower and mowed the section of yard by the parking spots. Mike did a great job mowing the grass at the front of the house. He saved the side yard for the next day’s work.
We cleaned out and reorganized the shed that is mostly storage. Then we disassembled the big table in the living room and moved it out there. The living room looks so much bigger! We moved the furniture around and now it feels relaxed and open.
We did go to the nearby market on Friday for a beer and a pork sandwich. I love listening to the conversations around me. I don’t understand much, but it is fun to listen to the lively talk and to watch the hands waving.
Today Mike and I assembled our packets for our interview at the Questura on Tuesday. We each have to have an original and a copy of all of our documents. They require 4 passport sized photos, which of course we don’t have. Maria told us where we can get that done, so tomorrow we will go off to Vasto to do that (as well as stop at the hardware store and do some grocery shopping). If all goes well, we will be getting our Permesso di Sogiorno in a few weeks.
Wish us luck on Tuesday!
